May Wrap-up: A Tale of Quality Over Quantity

Yet another month has gone by and the summer is nearly upon us. I can’t believe how fast this year is going! Acording to my challenge page, I have read 6 books again!  Which I am quite happy with. This seems to be a steady pattern so I gonna do good for my goal! I would have read more, but I did not pick anything up until the middle of the month for the Bout of Books (wrap-up)

Here are the books I read, clicky the images for Goodreads.

The month began with Born at Midnight which I thoroughly enjoyed. I think it was a fun quick read and I am looking forward to the rest of the series. Then came the Bout of Books where I read Second Chance Summer and My Life Next Door. Adored both of them and I wholeheartedly recommend them. They were so good! I had a sudden urge to read me some high fantasy and that is where the first two books in the Throne of Glass series came in. They were absolutely brilliant and I can’t wait for Heir of Fire to come out. The book of the month goes to City of Heavenly Fire. I did not have to wait too long for this since I read City of Lost Souls in January. This was a fitting ending to the series. It tied everything up with a nice little bow and still gave us an introduction to The Dark Artifices which is the sequel series to The Mortal Instruments. None of these reads were below 4 stars. It has been an amazing month for me!

Bout of Books 10: The Wrap-up #boutofbooks

Bout of BooksThe Bout of Books 10 has come to an end. To be honest I could have done a lot better but I did read more than I normally read, which I suppose is the name of the game.

I completed 2 books and I also managed to get 20 pages of one book and 10 of another.

The two books I completed were Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson and My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. The book I got 20 pages in to was Boy, Snow, Bird by Helen Oyeyemi and the book in got 10 pages in to was How to Love by Katie Contungo.

All in all, it is around 900 pages. Which I am pretty proud of.

I am gonna try and carry on the read-a-thon and get the TBR pile down. I look forward to seeing all of your goals and how you did with them!

Happy Reading!

April Wrap-up: The Slightly Better Than Last Month Edition

The month of April and already flown by and to be honest it feels like I have read nothing! According to my challenge page, however, I have read 6 books. Which is two books up on last month. I know two were novellas but they still count in order to give myself a boost! Here are the books I read: (Clicky the pictures for Goodreads)

Half Bad (Half Life, #1)""""

The month started off with Siege by Sarah Mussi which was brilliant and the review will be up soon. Then I decided to read Half Bad due to all of the hype and even though it was good it did not do it for me. Again, full review to come.  The First and The Sparrow were in preparation for me to read The Returned by Jason Mott. They are both free so I would bag them while you can!  I have a  review up for The Geography of you and me, so you can check that out to get the full fix on what I thought of that one, I gave it 5 stars. Last but not least, Kindred has to be my favourite book of this month. I was definitely surprised by how much I liked it. You can find my full review on that here.

I am not making a TBR this month since I ended up reading last month’s. I am participating in the Bout of Books Read-a-Thon this month so hopefully that will bump up the reads since I need to get some review and TBR books read! I also want to read some Netgally books I have had my eye on. This month seems like it is going to be a good one!

How did you guys do this month? Let me know it the comments!

Ps: since the days fell funny in April and I post wrap-ups on the first Tuesday after the month ends, this looks like it is late. It is not, I promise. It has been scheduled for a week! 😉
